Amazing Korean food! Best spicy pork that I’ve had in a very long time. I’m still thinking about the food my family and I ate there.

May’s Homecooked Korean dishes are by far some of the best food in the area including Salmon Arm. May works hard to make sure everyone is looked after and fed, for a very affordable price. Every time I’ve been there I’ve been so impressed with the food. Additionally, not in spite of, but because of the key-down ambience, this place is the epitome of an easy-to-miss hidden gem. I had the spicy pork bulgogi and the Japchae and have never been disappointed. I would post billboards for free along the highway for May’s cooking.

This is by far the MOST underrated restaurant in the Shuswap. If you are driving past this humble Korean restaurant to get Chinese takeout from Salmon Arm, you are making a huge mistake. Seriously turn around, pull into this gas pump and order a bibimbap and a bulgogi and save yourself the gas, reward yourself with an unexpected yet pleasant surprise. If you are picky or not sure about Korean food, the fried chicken is also excellent. If you are nervous about the Korean sauce, order plain old fried chicken, and get a side of sauce to dip it in. It’s really delicious, but it is a little spicy. If you’re more of a fried noodles person, go for the japchae. There’s also fried rice if you aren’t super adventurous. But just do it! Try this place. It should be way busier than it is because wow, I did not expect to find quality Korean food in this small town. I know I know, it’s named after a gas station. Don’t let that fool you. I’ve ordered it three times now. It’s been fantastic every time and I’ve never been sick. This place deserves some love, give it a try!

Such a lovely unsuspecting restaurant. We tried and shared multiple items, all which were very amazing. The homemade wonton soup was by far the best Wonton soup i’ve ever eaten. My partner had the Spicy Yangyeom Chicken (in the photo attached the chicken is already half eaten) and the Beef bulgogi and loved them both. I had the Bibimbap and it was so so delicious. Owner was super lovely and kind, took time to answer our questions and explain the dishes. Would 1000% recommend this restaurant. The food is affordable, the gas station is affordable, and it’s absolutely worth going out of your way to try this hidden gem

Honestly a surprisingly good little Korean food place. We weren't sure what to expect when we stopped at this gas station to eat but everything was delicious. Small menu, but all great options, including a breakfast menu and burgers/chicken strips. I had the japchae and it was fantastic. It was also very family friendly which was a plus! We would probably stop in on this route again sometime.

This place is an absolute gem! The Korean chicken is amazing. Very family run. The nice lady that took my order and made my food was also feeding her daughter and granddaughter. All the patrons were very friendly. Like I said a gem! Plan to stop in on your way through and you won't be disappointed.

The food was absolutely amazing—homemade and full of flavor. The place has a warm, homely vibe and it's conveniently located next to a gas station. We loved everything about it. Highly recommend trying the wonton soup and bibimbap!
